Wow, I'm so bad at keeping this updated ;P.
This entry is for the Sep. 4-7 weekend down at Summit Main, WV.
My parents and I got down there Thurs. night, so we could be ready for the practice day on Friday, and we were able to reserve enough pit space for everyone (thanks to Mr. Dodson's help :D)
A pretty successful practice, dad was happy for the most part with how his bikes were running, and got geared up for races on Saturday.
Saturday came...and rain came with it. All the sprints were moved to Sunday, and they only ran the GT races Saturday. Dad wanted some experience in the rain, so he practiced, then entered one of the GT's, and he did VERY well with a 1st place finish!
Saturday night, some buddies from our church were able to come down...Steve Page, Dave Parker, Drew Kaiser, Cole Cleveland, and Justin Kashuba...they all had a great time watching my dad race Sunday (and spiking my cheeseburger with salt Saturday night :P)
It was such an encouragement to have them there! Thanks guys :D!
Sunday chapel was decent, but I was definitely one of the people who missed Art's speaking.
This was also an ASRA event, and I was drafted as the Trophy girl. I was all for it, until they asked me to change my shirt. Which normally, wouldn't be a problem, except that they wanted me to wear a skimpy spaghetti strap shirt...I refused, despite some trying to persuade me otherwise (no hard feeling at ALL), and went back to my pit. I didn't think anything of it...didn't even bother saying anything to my parents, but they seemed very impressed when they found out. I've now realized how I've grown in my commitment to modesty, deviation didn't even cross my mind...Bra straps are not meant to be flaunted.
It was a great weekend...and I'm certainly plenty geared up for this coming one at VIR (which will be the first time that Dad and I have ever been to that track).
Please keep your prayers coming, because God has certainly been blessing the ministry so far this year.

Dad's been working like crazy on getting stuff together for our next race. We're both really excited about it, especially the aspect of bringing some Youth Group kids down with us to spend the weekend *woot*.

It seems like so long since I've seen everyone...it's kinda of weird, but it'll be SO good to get down there again!
Because of the awesome timing of this weekend, it will also double for the pick-up site for my first street motorcycle. As you can imagine, this is going to be an extremely exciting weekend for my family and me.
Please keep your prayers going, we'll need every one of them.
God Bless.

I am so ridiculously behind, I'm ashamed of myself. After events at our last race, I've been kind of shaken...but I'm not going to use that as an excuse for my own laziness.
This really turned out as a weekend for firsts, the first time my mom and my dog were able to come to the track with us, the first time on dad's new SV 650, and the first time I ever really witnessed a tragedy at the track.

Besides multiple mechanical problems over the weekend with the SV 650, it was a decent time to fellowship, and shine the light.
By the time Monday rolled around, I was ready to get home, it was such a hot weekend, and then everything changed.
It was during my dad's race that the crash took place, and sadly one of the racers involved never walked off again.
We all shed tears over the 13-year-old boy that lost his life this past memorial day weekend, and our prayers still go out to his family up in New England.
When I think back, it still seems surreal, and I'm still pretty shaken at the thought...it just reminds me of how urgent our mission at the track is...anyone we see, know, or talk to down there really could be gone at any time.

God's changed something in me through this, I don't know what, and I'm kind of scared, but I'm just trusting that what He has planned is for the best.
Art did a wonderful job that weekend, taking on all the roles God threw to him, I'm very glad that we have him with us while we're there.
Chapel service was different, but still refreshing...although I can't wait to hear Art preach again.

Journal;

Wow what a weekend we had! I was down for the count with a nasty head cold the day before we left...but knowing this would be my last chance to be there and see everyone until September (after school starts again?! :p) I knew I had to go. Back-pack loaded with decongestants, Tylenol, and the antibiotic described by the Doctor, off I went!

The track day before the weekend certainly was a wet one. We had at least 3 inches of rain flowing through our pit area at any particular moment (other places had a good 6 inches). We were completely drenched. Bob Brown and his son Russ decided to pack up and leave (Russ had crashed earlier, and with the adrenaline wearing off, he decided his shoulder was hurting him too much to stay for the weekend).

So, it was down to my dad and myself, our pit buddy Mark, and the Dodson clan (thanks again Mrs. Dodson for the awesome food service you provided to us all throughout the weekend!)
Saturday morning rolled around, and our buddy Art road down on his street bike to support us all (please continue praying for his family with the move and his wife's surgery).
Racing went well Saturday, the sky had rained itself out the day and night before, so we had a rain free weekend. Dad took his first 1st place finish ever on Saturday...I was SO proud...and thanking the Lord the whole time!

The other race we had Saturday, Dad took a solid 6th in, again very proud.
Sunday brought a wonderful chapel service (Art never ceases to amaze me) with a very large visual aid (thanks Craig). We had tons of people there (especially considering the small turnout overall for the race that weekend), and the message was interesting and easy to understand.

Racing on Sunday brought another 1st place win, and a 2nd that was reduced to an 11th because of gridding incorrectly.
It was a great weekend, and we got to know people better...also another thanks to Craig's mom for feeding us very well also (AMAZING burgers!). Can't wait to see everyone again in September, that's way too far away!

Sorry I haven't posted about our last weekend sooner. Life's been really hectic!
At our last weekend, there were even more issues with the Aprillia, and long story short dad borrowed a parts bike (an SV650) for his race on Sunday. So, because of that experience, dad has bought a new racing bike, and guess what? It's an SV650!
The Bible Study went well, 5 people were able to show up for the Adult one, no one came to mine, so I joined dad. So there were 7 of us total in the room that Summit was so kind to allow us to use on short notice.
That's a basic overview of the weekend, I'd keep you here for a long time if I went into all the details that I remember, and hopefully I'll be more on top of posting from now on. ;)

Sorry I didn't post about our first event sooner!
I'm really pumped about this past weekend, throughout all the hardships dad hit with the bike, I'm really proud of how well he handled it.
The Bible Study didn't happen this weekend...we will be starting it down at Summit Point in 3 weeks.
Dad took a 3rd place on Sunday, he was amazing!
I ate enough over the weekend for at least two more of me...paid for it in Dance too. lol
Looking forward to our next event, I forgot how good bike exhaust smelled in the breeze.
